Welcome
to No Place Like Home
No
Place Like Home, Inc. is a not for profit
organization. No person at
this facility receives any compensation for their
time and effort. Our goals are to
aid in reducing the pet population through
affordable spay and neuter
programs, reduce the number of stray animals
euthanized due to lack of
identification and when an animal is relinquished
or left unclaimed give
them as much time as possible to find new,
adequate homes.
The adoption fee at No Place Like Home is $100.
This charge covers the
expense of rabies and four-way vaccinations for
the animal, heart worm
testing and a micro-chip implant . Also covered
are the miscellaneous cost
incurred for the care and boarding of the animals
until they are adopted.
If a person or family really wants to adopt
one of our animals and just can
not afford our adoption fees, we will work
with them in any way possible.
Just come and talk to us. Our objective is to find
good homes to place
the animals. If you have the love and will
give them good care, the
problem should not be great.

Relinquishment
When
a pet owner can no longer care for their pet they
can bring it to No
Place Like Home. (A donation would be
appreciated).
These pets should ideally have their inoculations
up to
date and all proof of inoculations should also be
brought to the shelter.
Once relinquished these pets will become the
property of No Place Like Home
and steps will be taken to find new adequate homes
for them.
Puppies
Puppies
can be adopted from No Place Like Home. The
adoption rate is the
same. All animals adopted from No Place Like
Home must, by Ks. law, be
spay/neutered. An additional $65 deposit will be
required at the time of
adoption. This deposit will be refunded as soon as
proof of spay/neuter can
be presented to the shelter.
Stray
Animals
Any
stray animal brought to No Place Like Home whether
by city/county
officials or private individuals will be held at
the shelter for five (5)
days and an ad place in the lost and found of the
local newspaper for three
(3) days. If the animal is claimed, current proof
of rabies vaccination must
be presented and a fee of $10. per day paid before
the animal will be
released. If the animal is unclaimed it will
become the property of No
Place Like Home. Once the animal is under our care
appropriate steps
will be taken to ready them for adoption.
It's
the Law
Kansas
Law No. 47-1731 requires all adopted animals to be
spay/neutered
Clinics
Since
opening our doors No Place Like Home, Inc. has
held successful low
cost inoculation clinics in the fall as well as
early in the year. To date,
we have inoculated close to 200 animals on clinic
days. No Place Like Home
wants to help keep your pet healthy and happy.
During our clinics, we also
offer nail trimming, micro-chip implants. All
proceeds from our clinics go
toward the purchase of micro-chips, vaccinations,
veterinarian fees and
improvements to the shelter. Check the "What's
New" page for
announcements of upcoming vaccination
clinics.
Goals
No
Place Like Home strives to serve the community
with programs that will
help to reduce the number of unwanted, abandoned,
and feral animals in the
area. Our goals include implementing a
*Capture-Neuter-Release (CNR)
program to control and/or decrease the feral cat
population .
*Spay/Neuter All Pets (S.N.A.P.) program to make
spay/neutering of pets
affordable to low income families. $$$'s are
needed before we can see
such goals accomplished. Thanks to your generous
support we now perform
heartworm test on all animals before adoption.
Donations can be left at First National Bank 418
