VACCINATION CLINIC SEPT 31st, 2007

On Saturday, Sept. 31st we had a low cost vaccination clinic for dogs and cats. This was at the shelter location from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. We vaccinated about 60 animals from the surrounding communities.  We offered the $20 special again which includes rabies, a combo shot, and worming. People got a vaccination certificate and a rabies tag.  Kennel Cough vaccination, nail trimming and microchipping was also available.  Thanks to the many volunteers that helped with preparations, the event itself, and also clean up.  The lunch afterwards was well-deserved and very delicious!

NPLH at the 2006 Central Kansas Free Fair parade and booth

Aug. 8th, 2006:  We built and decorated a float for the Central Kansas Free Fair parade which was Thursday August 3rd. The float won 3rd place in the non-commercial category!  Some dogs and pups got to ride on the float in the parade.  It was hot during the parade, but special precautions were taken to make sure everyone stayed as cool as possible. Then a booth was built and decorated for the fair, and volunteers took turns manning the booth.  T-shirts and hats with the shelter logo and many donated items were sold to raise money.  Three dogs were adopted out from contacts made at the fair. Thanks to all the volunteers who braved the heat of the week at the fair!
